WooThemes now producing Expression Engine Themes

A long time coming but WooThemes are now working on themes for Expression Engine. They’ve gone as far as developing two themes, Fresh News, their all time best-selling theme and Coffee Break which was the best selling theme of 2009. We recently posted about the new WooFramework 2.0 that WooThemes had been working on for some time, this has now been rolled out on the Expression Engine Themes.

In their news today, WooThemes also stated that they will be porting across all of their themes into Expression Engine at a rate of approximately two per month.

WooThemes have decided to stick closely to ExpressionEngine’s own pricing to not confuse the EE die-hard fans. The WeeThemes as Woo have named it will be available for $90 for a Standard Package (single-site license) and $180 for a Developer Package (multi-site licence, plus the inclusion of the PSD files).

The final statement from WooThemes was that the ExpressionEngine themes will NOT be licensed with the GNU (General Public License) as is the case with their WordPress Themes and have split up the packages accordingly on their website.

This puts WooThemes/WeeThemes in a very strong position indeed and whilst the community and following might not be the size of Movable Type they have certainly managed to strategically place themselves there before anyone else.
